Girlfriend Practice

Playing with a kitten is a lot like having a girlfriend. You may not believe me but I would like to make several points. I think you may find these similarities to be quite accurate. Either way, I hope you enjoy this article.

First, let me say that I do have a cat and over the years I have gone from cat hater to the point I enjoy the awkward, distant affection, a cat will show his owner. My cat is particularly strange when it comes to affection, it drools when it starts purring. Zipper, that is his name, has also been classically conditioned to “roll over” and “speak” much like a dog. At times I think he also tries to leverage these tricks in an attempt to get some affection. He is quite the unique animal.

My sister’s cat, however, is crazy! This little fuzz ball has more aggression, and passion in her playing habits than most other cats I’ve seen. This kitten also has no concept of her physical strength and is most capable of eating her toy and/or you’re hand for lunch!

There are three comparisons I would like to make between a kitten and a girlfriend, the first of which is that both a kitten and a girlfriend can be very entertaining. While neither of them wants to play all the time, they both know how to play when playtime comes. Just like a kitten a girlfriend can bring relaxation from stress that comes from a little, heart-lifting emotional exchange. Be careful though, you have to be careful to play when she wants to play and stop when she is done or she might just eat you for lunch.

The second comparison I would like to make between playing with your girlfriend and your cat is that you have to play by her rules. Sometimes my sisters kitten will want you chase a piece of string around the room, sometimes she’ll want to pounce on your hand from a running start, and other times she simply wants to crawl up your leg. If you should happen to want to play a different game you risk a pouting fit. While you may not get a pouting fit from your girlfriend you still have to pay attention to her rules or the game is over.

Finally, kittens and girlfriends are both curious. Your girlfriend’s curiosity may not be as critical to her life, as you may imply from an old saying, but most girls want to know what you’re doing all the time. While this can be annoying at times, this can keep us out of a lot of trouble.

These are just a few of the similarities between a kitten and a girlfriend. So if you are single and you are lucky enough to have an opportunity to play with a kitten, you should take some time to practice having a girlfriend.
